Organ Concert at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish on Friday, May 23rd
 On Friday, May 23rd at 7:00 p.m., the St. Thomas Aquinas Concert Series will present a concert of organ music for Pentecost, the Most Holy Trinity, and Corpus Christi. The concert will be performed by William Atwood who is an alumnus of of Westminster Choir College of Rider University and a current student at the Catholic University of America. The performance will include pieces by Bach, Boëllmann, deGriney, and Duruflé. Admission is free but contributions are welcome for the Saint Thomas Aquinas Concert Series Fund. Young Artists Recital
 Several young local musicians will display their talents in a Young Artists Recital, on Friday, January 25th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas parish. The program, sponsored by The Saint Thomas Aquinas Concert Series, will give the community an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the special musical gifts of area high school and college students. The students will perform works by Mendelssohn, J.S. Bach, F.W. Ferling, Gabriel Faurè, and others. Admission is free but contributions are welcome for The Saint Thomas Aquinas Concert Series Fund. Musicians Needed for Upcoming Masses

Flute and Harp Concert
On Friday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m., St. Thomas Aquinas parish will host a Flute and Harp Concert. Admission is free. This concert is part of the concert series which also includes: - An Evening of Thanksgiving (Choral Concert and Hymn Sing), Friday, November 16th at 7:00 p.m.
- Joy and Light, Saturday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m.
- Young Artists Recital, Friday, January 25th at 7:00 p.m.

Meet our New Music Minister
Don't forget that there will be an opportunity after the 11:00 a.m. mass on Sunday, October 14th to meet our new music minister, Bill Polhill. Refreshments will be served in the Commons following the mass. In addition to Bill, some of the members of the choir will be available to speak with anyone who would like to share their gifts as members of the choir, cantors, or instrumentalists. Labels: Music

Meet our new Minister of Music
Our new Minister of Music William "Bill" Polhill, III will begin his ministry this weekend. A previous post provided some introductory information about him. To get to know him in person, please come to a reception for Bill on Sunday, October 14th after the 11:00 a.m. mass. In addition to Bill, choir members will also be available to talk to any potential choir members, cantors and instrumentalists who are interested in joining the music ministry. Welcome to the new Music Minister
We would like to welcome the new music minister William Polhill, III. Bill, as he prefers to be called, has a B.A. in Architectural History from the University, and he also holds a Masters of Music from the North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. He is accomplished in the piano, oboe, voice, and of course, the organ. Bill brings a wealth of experience in directing church and school choirs. He also has performance experience from his organ and voice recitals. He will begin his ministry at our parish on the first weekend of October. Labels: Music
